What is an iBeaken?

What on earth is an iBeaken?

An iBeaken is a small story about a location, object, work of art, etc. that can be viewed with the visitor's own smartphone and in his own language!

An iBeaken is virtual, so it floats on the waves of the mobile Internet, in augmented reality browsers, routemaker websites and in social networks…

Unfortunately, because of GPS or smartphone limitations, it is not always possible to get the right information on the righjt spot.  That's why there is always an iBeaken label on the location.  That is good marketing, it says 'here is something to learn', it's an eye catcher for the tourists...

Such a label may look like this :
(labels are highly customizable with your own logo and your own colors - and always equipped with the iB code, QR and NFC.)

Don't be shy and try the iBeaken above on your smartphone!

We are NOT interested in pure POI's (Point of Interest) - but stories to make works of art, heritage and history come to life, are our game !

The iBeaken contains a small set of informations : short stories, legends, knowabouts, facts and figures, etc. about a certain location, building, artwork, natural site, etc.  But we can go further and show you video and let you hear sounds…

You can drop your iBeaken wherever you are on earth, as long as it tells a story about a certain location you know.

There are three kinds of iBeakens:

  • Green: These iBeakens can be viewed without any control…
  • White:  These iBeakens can only be seen after logging in with some information like age, travel and eventualy an email address to revisit the iBeaken afterwards…
  • Brown: These iBeakens can only be seen and read with a scratch card and are ideal to monetize your info and work…

The iBeaken community is also translating iBeakens into several languages, so there is a big chance that your iBeakens will be read in other languages too! If you are a translator and want to get involved in translating iBeakens, please contact us to talk…

But above all… enjoy using iBeaken!
